Ecclesall Woods

About 350 acres of ancient woodland in the south-west of the city between Abbeydale Road and Ecclesall, the largest in Sheffield. The woods contain the remains of charcoal burners' platforms and Q-pits, the grave of a collier who died in 1786, and the Woodland Discovery Centre. Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet lies at the bottom edge.
