Five Weirs Walk

A five-mile riverside footpath and cycle route along the River Don from the Wicker in the city centre to Meadowhall, passing the five weirs that once served the steelworks of the Lower Don Valley. Built by a trust of volunteers from the 1980s, it opened up a river that had been walled off by industry.
