The South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, which brings together Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley and Doncaster councils under the elected South Yorkshire Mayor. It is responsible for transport, including buses and Supertram, skills, economic development and housing strategy across the region. It was known as the Sheffield City Region Combined Authority until 2021 and absorbed SYPTE in 2022.
