Thornton’s

The chocolate firm founded when Joseph William Thornton opened his first shop on Norfolk Street in Sheffield in 1911, famous for its toffee and Continental chocolates. Manufacturing moved to Derbyshire long ago and the chain, now owned by Ferrero, closed its high street shops in 2021, but it remains a Sheffield name.
