River Sheaf

The river that gave Sheffield its name, flowing north from the Totley moors through Dore, Abbeydale and Heeley to join the Don at Castlegate. Much of its lower course was culverted under the station and Sheaf Street in the nineteenth century, and it is now being reopened to daylight as part of the Castlegate regeneration.
