Find Sheffield cycling events for everyday journeys, social rides and discovering routes that suit your bike and confidence. Plan with local cycling information
Sheffield City Council’s cycling pages link route-planning resources and local cycling information. CycleSheffield provides another local perspective, including cycle-parking information and discussion of conditions around the city. Use those resources to investigate the whole journey, including where you will leave the bike. A route that looks short on a map may involve a climb, a busy junction or a surface that changes what you need from the ride.

Make a ride invitation clear
For a group ride, check the distance, pace, surface, meeting point and arrangements if someone needs to stop. Say whether you are looking for a relaxed outing, a training ride or help with an everyday route. If you share a route or photograph afterwards, include when you rode it and any relevant change you noticed. Avoid publishing a person’s home location or regular movements. The Walking and Sport hubs offer other ways to find local outdoor company.
