Find Sheffield people to paint, collect and play Warhammer with. This independent guide brings together relevant events and places to play, whether you are learning a first game or returning to an army that has spent too long in a cupboard. Visit the paired community for hobby conversations. Say which system interests you so other players can offer useful advice.
Start with a Sheffield gaming venue
Patriot Games describes its Mary Street premises as a tabletop gaming centre, with a programme of play and events. Use the venue’s current calendar or contact it directly to find out which systems are being played and how tables are booked. A shop stocking miniatures does not establish that a particular game has an open session that day. The Board Games community is another place to explore Sheffield’s wider tabletop scene.

Arrange a game both players expect
Agree the game system, edition, points or force size, scenario and approximate time before meeting. Mention whether you want a teaching game, a relaxed narrative session or tournament practice. Check any venue policy on models and terrain rather than assuming that every table follows the same rules. Painting questions work best with a clear photograph and the technique you are trying to learn. Credit conversion ideas and other people’s miniatures when posting a gallery.
