How to correct something

Keeping tens of thousands of listings and more than fifty public datasets accurate is a shared effort. Details can change between refreshes, so if you spot something that needs updating, telling me is genuinely a favour and helps the next person.

If it is an event or a venue

Wrong date, wrong price, moved, cancelled, closed down, a venue that has changed hands? Use the contact page, or the report link on the listing itself. Say what is wrong and, if you have it, where the right answer lives. I fix those the same day where I can.

If it is your own event or your own business, an account lets you edit the listing yourself, which is faster than waiting for me.

If it is a number, a map pin or a fact

Most of the data here is gathered from public sources rather than typed in, so an error usually lives upstream. The sources page lists every dataset with its owner, its licence and when it was last refreshed. Find the source, and you can see whether the problem is theirs or mine.

  • If the source is right and this site is wrong, tell me: something has broken in how it is read, and that is worth knowing about.
  • If the source itself is wrong, reporting it there fixes it everywhere, not just here. Council data goes through Sheffield City Council, health locations through the NHS, and anything on OpenStreetMap can be edited by you directly.
  • If a number looks odd rather than wrong, open its workings first. Most of the surprising ones on the area finder turn out to be a percentile doing exactly what it should.

If it is the site itself

Broken page, something unreadable, something that will not work with a keyboard or a screen reader: that goes on the accessibility page, and it jumps the queue.

If you would rather it was not here at all

If you run a venue or an event and you want the listing removed, ask and it is removed. No argument, no form. The same goes for a photograph you own or a mention you did not want.

Thank you for bothering. A correction from somebody who was actually there is worth more than a week of my own checking.
