King Confuza is a Sheffield drag creature: queer, trans and non-binary, part drag king, part chaos demon, and entirely their own genre. When not on stage they are behind the decks as a DJ, or at the sewing machine as a binder maker.They are the creator and producer of Cryptid Queers, the alternative queer nightlife project behind Sheffield’s drag monster shows and the world’s first drag monster festival. The project has been featured in Gay Times, named one of the top ten queer nights in the UK by Anarkiss Zine, and picked up a Sheffield Arts & Culture Award. Through Camp Cryptid, its not-for-profit arm, King Confuza mentors emerging drag monsters with workshops covering everything from costume and SFX makeup to stagecraft.You will find them hosting and performing across the city, from Trash Haus cabarets at The Lughole to Cryptid Queers Fest, and sharing bills with international drag names visiting Sheffield.
