These are the terms for using Sheffield Events. It is a free hobby project run by one person, so they are short, and they are meant to be read rather than agreed to in the dark.
What this is
A free guide to what is on in Sheffield, plus the places, areas and public data around it. There is no charge to use it and no charge to list on it. It is not a company, it is not a ticket seller, and it is not anybody’s official source. See the about page for why it exists.
Listings can be wrong
This is the important one. Event and venue information comes from organisers, from partner feeds and from public open data, all of which change without telling me. Dates move, prices change, venues close, opening times go stale between refreshes.
So: check with the organiser or the venue before you set off, particularly if the trip costs you money or effort. Nothing here is a guarantee that an event is happening, and I cannot be responsible for a wasted journey. If you spot something wrong, please tell me.
The same goes for the data pages. Health, help, transport, flood and air quality information is gathered from public sources and is not advice. In an emergency, call 999.
If you list something
You need the right to post what you submit, including any images. Do not list anything unlawful, misleading or hateful, and do not use the site to spam people. By submitting a listing you are letting me show it here, and in the site’s feeds and social posts, and you can ask for it to be taken down at any time.
I can edit a listing for clarity, file it in the right place, or remove it, without notice and without a long explanation. In practice that is almost always spam or a duplicate.
If you have an account
Keep your login to yourself, be decent to other members, and do not use the messaging to harass anybody. Accounts that do get closed. You can delete yours at any time by asking.
The content here
Words and pages I have written are mine, and you are welcome to quote them with a link. Data gathered from public sources carries its own licence, listed on the sources page, and anything worked out here rather than fetched is CC BY 4.0. The open data guide explains how to reuse it properly. Event listings and images belong to the people who submitted them.
Availability
It is run on a modest budget by somebody with a life. It will occasionally be slow, broken or down, and features come and go as I build them. Nothing here is offered with a warranty, and to the extent the law allows, I am not liable for loss arising from using it. Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law says it cannot be limited.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, the change will be obvious rather than buried. They are governed by the law of England and Wales.
Anything unclear, ask me.
