The Lyceum’s ghost stories are living theatre folklore. Sheffield Theatres’ own tours tell of jilted and deceased lovers, former managers said to continue their duties and experiences reported by people working in the building.
The official tour is the responsible way to hear and explore these accounts: most of the theatre is a working venue rather than an open investigation site. We label the traditions as reported accounts because the venue presents testimony and legend without claiming proof of a supernatural cause.
