Ijakadi (The Wrestle): Works in Progress – Open Works Festival

A one-man stage performance on identity, conflict, culture and inner battles, created and performed by Julius Obende and directed by Joshua Alabi. Blends spoken word, live African percussion and visual storytelling. Part of Sheffield Theatres’ Open Works Festival. Age guidance 14+; themes include colourism, prejudice, discrimination, rejection, emotional trauma, bullying and internalised shame.
