Bipolar Abdul
One of Sheffield's most-loved drag artists: sharp, funny and fearless, whether hosting a brunch, calling bingo or headlining a festival stage.
Bipolar Abdul is a non-binary drag artist from Yorkshire with the best part of a decade on stage, and one of the most familiar faces on the Sheffield scene. The act is built on being a living cartoon: big looks, sharper jokes and a refusal to resolve the fluidity that sits at the heart of it. Expect high-energy lip-syncs, proper costumes and a streak of political bite underneath the chaos.
They are the host who turns a room into a night out. Regular Sheffield fixtures include drag bingo, games nights and the Gob Off drag karaoke at Happy’s Bar in Kelham, drag brunches with Anna Popp at DINA and the Samuel Worth Chapel, bingo at Hagglers Corner and The Victoria in Heeley, and hosting duties for Cryptid Queers, the city’s alt-drag collective, including the main stage at Cryptid Queers Fest. Since 2024 they have also co-hosted Kelham Pride, Sheffield’s newest Pride festival, which returned for a third year in June 2026 with Danny Beard headlining.
Away from Sheffield, Bipolar Abdul co-founded FLUID/ITY with Eboni Whyte, a monthly LGBTQIA+ drag club night in Doncaster that grew into a community project, a documentary by filmmaker Wayne Sables and drag make-up workshops with Heritage Doncaster. They are represented by Ugly Models.
