A night of smoke-choked soundsystem music
Come drench yourself in noise and echo, where mud caked snares cut through the red mist in cacophonous glory.
In two weeks time, The Tanlines Weekender opens with three artists whos deep affinity for UK sound system music is crystallised in everything they touch.
John T. Gast (live)
Mysterious UK producer who has stacked up a huge catalogue of genre-defying club music. Gast has released on some of our favourite labels, Blackest Ever Black, Trilogy Tapes, and his own 5 Gate Temple. After experiencing his visceral live show at Supernormal Festival a few years back, he’s been firmly on the wish list to come tear us a new one down Chapel Walk. Heavy, experimental electronics and thundering takes on dub music that draws from grime, techno, ambient and noise.

MCR based mega DJ and NTS Resident. We first came aross Abena as a founding member of “All Hands on Deck” and have been captivated by their ear for heavy and highly danceable dub-informed dance music every since. Expect spacious, weighty, rhythmic dance music, blended with steely precision.

One of Sheffield’d finest! Ash is a Multi-displenary artist and DJ and a resident on NTS Radio, hosting Tough Matter, a monthly show of music and sound on the station since 2017. Ash is no stranger to the Gut Level DJ booth and it’s always a treat to listen to his wide ranging selections.
