Tramlines returns to Hillsborough Park from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 July 2026 for its 18th edition: five stages of music, comedy and performance, a family area, street food and craft beer, and a city that spends the whole weekend at it. Here is what is on in the park, what it costs, and the enormous amount happening outside it.
Everything below has its own page on Sheff Events with times and venue details: start with the main festival listing, then dig into the complete Fringe programme.
Who is playing, day by day
Friday belongs to Fatboy Slim, headlining the Sarah Nulty Main Stage with Kaiser Chiefs and special guests The Vaccines beneath him. The T’Other Stage brings The K’s and Starsailor, Reginald D Hunter tops the comedy bill, Black Honey headlines the Leadmill Stage with Radio Free Alice and Westside Cowboy, and the Ogretones take the Library Stage.
Saturday is led by Courteeners, with Blossoms and Rick Astley also on the main stage and Gabrielle heading up T’Other.
Sunday closes with Wolf Alice, joined by Wet Leg and Reverend and the Makers, while The Enemy lead T’Other and The Royston Club, Florence Road and The Lilacs play through the afternoon. Dom Joly brings a Trigger Happy TV anniversary show.
For families, Taskmaster Education runs across Friday and Saturday, and Amazelab’s hands-on science shows (Colour Chaos, Power Up, The Coolest Show on Earth) run through the weekend.
Times, tickets and the practical bits
Gates open at 12pm each day with last entry at 7.30pm, so it is not a turn-up-at-nine festival. Headliners finish at 10.15pm on Friday and Saturday and 9.15pm on Sunday.
Friday and Saturday day tickets have sold out. Final-tier weekend tickets have been running low, and final-tier Sunday tickets are still available. Check the festival listing for the current ticket link before you plan around it.
Sold out? The rest of the city is free
This is the thing people miss: you do not need a Tramlines ticket to have a brilliant Tramlines weekend. The Fringe at Tramlines puts on hundreds of free gigs across more than forty Sheffield venues from Thursday 23 to Sunday 26 July, including the free open-air Fringe Stage on Devonshire Green. Pubs become all-day venues, DIY spaces run punk marathons, community gardens host folk sessions, and nobody checks a wristband.
We list every act, venue and set time in one planner, with maps and day filters. It is the most complete Fringe guide anywhere, because it covers the official programme and the independent events that sit outside it.
The unofficial Tramlines: alternative festivals and afterparties
Alongside the official Fringe, independent venues run their own festivals-within-the-festival all weekend. These are not on the official listings, so they are easy to miss:
- TANLINES at Gut Level – three days of their own programming, from John T. Gast and Abena on the Friday to a Vanity Projects all-dayer on the Sunday.
- Clamlines at Delicious Clam – the DIY institution’s own three-day festival, a Tramlines-weekend fixture.
- WUBLINES – a free party at Dryad Works on the Saturday.
- Sweet Summer Bassline at Fez – when the park shuts, this keeps going.
- Tramlines Weekend at Triple Point – the brewery taproom’s own weekender.
- Tramplines – Distort Sheffield’s characteristically loud response to the weekend.
All of them appear in our Fringe planner, marked as independent so you can tell what is official and what is not, and in the Tramlines weekend hub alongside the festival itself.
Getting there and getting home
Hillsborough Park sits on the Sheffield Supertram Blue and Yellow routes (Hillsborough or Hillsborough Park stops) and on plenty of bus routes, which is by far the easiest way in and out. If you are combining the park with Fringe venues, note that most of the Fringe clusters around West Street, Division Street, Kelham Island and Neepsend, all a tram or a short ride from Hillsborough.
